questions

I am wanting to go through bankruptcy and would like to know how about getting all the information that I need about the companies that I owe money too. I also want to know if their are any other alternatives … although I believe that I may have burned too many bridges to go an alternative way.

Did you know of any reputable companies to go through bankruptcy with?

You are correct that to file a bankruptcy in Canada you need to identify who you owe money to. The best way is to go through all the statements you should have received in the mail, this is typically the best source for that information. Alternatively you can consider contacting Equifax or Trans Union and ordering a copy of your credit history report. The downside of relying on the report is that only certain types of creditors (i.e. major banks, credit card / finance companies…), there are a large number of places that do not (i.e. pay day loans etc.). As a result, reliance upon just the credit history alone is not recommended.

As for reputable companies, if you use the following link it will direct you to licensed trustees who are committed to ensuring your file is handled appropriately.
