RE: Credit Bureau Reporting

Thank you for posting your comment to my question.

I believe Manitoba requires that the trustee send a report about the bankruptcy to one of the anti-consumer, American-owned, negligent credit reporting agencies in Canada. I resist using the word BUREAU as I feel this eludes to government which is so completely wrong and deceiving.

If this is the case which I am almost sure of, then I see potential information privacy act violations. Do you know how this can be verified?

I would be surprised if what you have heard is true.

That being said, the best place to ask is the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy in Winnipeg. Their number is 204-983-3229.

If you find out that Manitoba trustees are required to file some sort of report, please let me know so I can pass that information on to whomever else asks in the future.
