False Accusations by Creditor

I am embarassed to say I have been forced to claim bankruptcy because I cannot possible pay the property settlement imposed by family court in a divorce case. I never had any money problems until she wanted the divorce. I live on my pension and have had to claim bankruptcy. The major creditor is my ex who is opposing my discharge and saying I committed fraud and purposely planned bankruptcy. The trustee investigated all my documents and told me the only alternative was bankruptcy. Do I have any recourse when the claim of fraud is proven untrue?

You should discuss this with your lawyer. Presumably a discharge hearing will be held, and you will receive your discharge. However, your ex-wife could still pursue you for fraud after the bankruptcy is over (although that is very unusual), so I would suggest you get legal advice so that you are prepared to defend yourself if required.
