tax debt and bankruptcy

Please advise if bankruptcy would be a good solution for us…
Our financial situation is bad. My husband has been self-employed, he has not paid income taxes for years. I have a low paid job and I need to continue studying and change my major.
I don’t really have a choice, and I need to ask for a financial support from the goverment to be able to study. I am afraid that it won’t be possible as my usband doesnt pay income tax (?)

Right now it’s imposible for us to pay my husband’s tax debt. We don’t even know how much would we have to pay.
Should he go bankrupt? Would it affect me?

Thank You

Filing either a consumer proposal or a bankruptcy can help to deal with this tax problem, but there are far to many variables for me to suggest how this would affect you.

For more information on how this would affect you and any potential student financing options, I suggest you contact a licensed trustee in your area and he will be able to review your situation in more detail based on this review.
