leasing an apartment

We declared a consumer proposal and will be discharged very soon ….in good standing. We will be wanting to rent an apartment but wonder how it will affect our chances in light of the credit check that is done on most upscale units. Will we be denied because of the credit report even though our income is 65.000 annually. We are very concerned about this..thanks

If a landlord chooses to examine your credit history they will definitely see the previous proposal. As for how this is going to affect their decision to rent you an apartment I cannot say as each individual landlord has it’s own acceptance requirements. I recommend you contact some of the major landlords in your area and ask them this same question.
