Bankruptcy for Relationship

I am going to be getting married in a few months and one of the conditions that my fiance and I have come to agreeance with is for me to file bankruptsy, his credit is in good standing and currently I am a stay at home mom for our 2 month old baby. I was just wondering if it is actually possible for me to go bankrupt and it not to affect my future husband and cause marital problems. Or does a prenuptual agreement stating he will not pay my debts before marriage required?

As long as your fiancé has not signed on any of your debts there is no problem with you filing a bankruptcy as there will be no impact on him. However, if he has signed on any of your obligations there would be no value to a prenuptial agreement as legally he would still be responsible to ensure all the debts are paid in full.

For more information about this I suggest you contact a licensed trustee in your area and he will be able to advise you what you can expect to happen if you file for bankruptcy.
