after completion of consumer proposal can I be sued?

Hello,

Once I have completed my consumer proposal can any of the debtors listed in the proposal sue me over any outstanding balances?? I just worry that creditors can come back and try to get my more money once the proposal has been paid off and completed. What normally happens once a proposal is completed??

The point of filing a consumer proposal is to deal with your debts. Once the proposal is accepted and you have fulfilled your obligations, your debts are discharged. The creditors cannot come back later and sue you.

There are some exceptions, such as child support and certain secured debts, so I suggest you contact a licensed trustee to review your debts and advise you if you have any debts that would not be included in the proposal.
