my creditors wont stop

I have been bankrupt since September 13, 2005. As of May 2006 I was still having my name supplied to 3rd party collection agencies by a creditor…I have told my creditor that I am bankrupt ten thousand times and my trustee has even written the creditor a letter….they seem oblivious.
Do I have any legal recourse?

You could potentially try to sue the collector, the problem is that it would be a cost that you would be responsible for and I am assuming that may be difficult to cover. The best thing I have found is to simply inform the collector they will have to commence legal action to collect and once the file gets passed to their legal department and someone with a little more knowledge gets involved they will realize that they are simply wasting their time as they don’t have the ability to collect on the debt. Alternatively there is a consumer protection division of the provincial government that you could contact and register a complaint. These complaints are investigated and can cause the collection agents significant difficulties when it comes to licensing.
