Change in the act of 2005
On June 15th, 1998, the court declared an absolute discharge one year after I went in bankruptcy (for the second time) because of delayed disability payments.
How long does the bankruptcy remain on my file at the credit bureau?
I do know that the act was changed in 2005, and wondered if the 14 year rule applied retroactive to my discharge in 1998.

You should go to the various websites for the major credit bureaus to review their policies regarding “second time filers”.
Generally speaking, a bankruptcy filing remains on a persons credit bureau for 6 years after they have been discharged. If a second bankruptcy is filed during that period the new filing may be listed for up to 14 years at the discretion of the bureau.
The most commonly used credit bureau in Canada is called Equifax. You might also consider looking at Trans Union as well.
