Do you have to declare bankrupt in your own city? I feel embarrassed and would prefer to go a couple hours away? Is this possible?

Typically it is best to file a bankruptcy in the city you live in, although this is primarily due to ease. Depending on the distance between cities you may be able to find a trustee who is licensed in your area and uses the same court jurisdiction as you reside, If so I don’t think you would have to many difficulties convincing the trustee to act.
However, I don’t think you have to much to worry about. Most trustees are very careful with how they handle engagements and are required to be discreet with the way they administer your file.
