Can a credit card company put a lien on my house ? Will bankruptcy remove such lien ?.
I live in Alberta and the equity in my house is about $30,000.

Yes a credit card company can put a lien on a house for failure to pay outstanding amounts and this will be removed by a Superintendent of Bankruptcy or a consumer proposal. Well, the actually lien will not automatically be removed, but you will be cleared from the debt through the bankruptcy and as a result will easily be able to have that lien removed.

If you would like more details on this process you should contact a licensed trustee in your area, and he will be able to describe this process in detail.
