Guarantor of rental lease

If the guarantor for my rent lease files bankruptcy at any time does this affect my rental lease? One can hardly forsee what goes on in another person’s life and of course I’m going to worry. I intend to make all my rental payments.

It shouldn’t, however, most lease contracts are written so that if any party on the lease files bankruptcy the leasor is provided the ability to terminate the lease contract. So technically speaking they may retain the right to annul the lease, although, as long as you have been a good tenant and your payments are made on time the leasor typically has no reason to be concerned and simply allows things to stay as they are.
