Changing residence during a consumer proposal
When we filed for a consumer proposal, I asked our trustee if we could sell the house we were in to get into more affordable accomodations. He said, “lets just get the proposal approved and then I dont care what you do with the proceeds from your house”.
Well now we have a great opportunity to buy a house from a friend of a friend at well below the real value due to a settling of an estate. This would help get us back on our feet. An opportunity only comes along like this once in a lifetime. But can we do this in the middle of our proposal. When I ask our trustee anything he gets angry and belittles my husband or myself when we ask him questions, this is why i am asking you here.

There is no problem doing this in the middle of the proposal all you need to do is inform your trustee of the new address and keep up with your proposal payments. Other than that there is really nothing that involves your trustee so you don’t need to be concerned that you are doing anything incorrect.
