Second bankruptcy

I declared bankruptcy in 91 and it has not shown up on my financial records for years. Now I am out of work and have a lot of debts and my only way out is to declare bankruptsy again. If this first one no longer shows up on my financial records do I still have to disclose that I declared bankruptsy in 91?

When you file a consumer proposal (or bankruptcy for that matter) something called a stay of proceedings is automatically put in place. If you haven’t opened a new bank accoutn because you are afraid it will just be seized, the stay stops that.

So, go and speak to a trustee in your area about filing a proposal and they will tell you when it is safe to open the new account. The sooner begun the sooner you’ll be done…
