lost with no hope or understanding

I have a minnimum wage job.I guess you could call me one of the working poor. I have little education and will probably not earn more than minnimum wage in my lifetime. For sometime I worked 80 hrs a week.I did this for 3-4 years and was able to get credit cards at the time. I am 58 years old and I can’t work those kind of hours .I could do it when I was young but not now.I am $30,000 in credit card debt . With an $800 income I can’t pay.
For years I shuffled my credit cards to pay one card with cash advances from another. When I asked for help the guy at the accounting place told me not to .He told me I couldn’t afford to do bankrutcy or make a deal with a councilling service.Bamkruptcy I felt was my only glimmer of hope. The guy told me it would be hard for the companies to get any money. Won’t they just take it out of my pay.I talked to someone from one of the card companies. They told me to sell something to pay. I don’t have anything to sell. The only thing I have with some value is my VCR and a 12 inch tv .They are 10 years old and i wouldn’t get much for them.I don’t have a car or house or anything. Do you think they will come and take them ?
If I could pay I would certainly do it .I feel so bad that I can’t pay . Is there any hope for me.I am being called by a collection agency and they were yelling at me and threatening me .They told me they would take my car. I don’t have a car. Would they know I had a vcr and tv .My stuff isn’t worth a thousand dollars . It is all I have .They are important to me. If they take money off my paycheck I won’t be able to my rent or buy food.

It is highly unlikely that a creditor will spend the money on lawyers to go to court to get a court order to seize an old TV or VCR. I would suggest that you explore credit counselling as a way to deal with your debts and avoid bankruptcy.
