Lawsuits and personal bankruptcy

I’m contemplating bankruptcy, as I am deluged with debt, and have minimal income. What I’m wondering about is I’ve just received a statement of claim regarding debt I have with a bank visa. Will this prevent me from including this debt in my coming bankruptcy?

No, this really won’t have any impact as on the filing of a bankruptcy will stop any of this type of court action. I suggest you contact a licensed trustee and would recommend you bring a copy of this Statement of Claim so he will be able to advise all the necessary parties as soon as possible.
