Hi, where can I read B/I law regarding dower right in case of one of spouses file personal bankruptcy and the other spouse is alone on title of matremonial home. Do creditor has right on equity the matremonial property. Even bankrupt spouseis is not on title of matremonial property for 9 years.

A licensed trustee said...

Matrimonial law is very complicated. Generally if the bankrupt spouse has never owned the house, the house is not effected by a bankruptcy. However, the rules are complex, so I suggest you contact a lawyer, or contact a licensed trustee to review your specific situation.
