What about my pension?

I have worked for the same company for 10 years. We have an excellent pension plan. Although I am a mere 16 years away from retirement (sigh)if I claim bankruptcy this year, is my pension taken away too?

As long as these pension funds are locked-in until retirement (as most company administered pension plans are) then these funds are protected. The risk exists when these funds have an accessible cash value (i.e. if you can withdraw funds from this plan today then you can expect to loose those funds).
