A licensed trustee said...

That depends on the loan agreement you signed and the lender that you are dealing with. There are no universal rules governing repossessions. Once you are in default of the terms of your contract the lender may exercise whatever legal rights they are entitiled to according to the contract that you signed.

If you think you are being (or have been) mistreated I suggest you pull out the contract that you signed and review the terms in detail.
