Will I lose my house in the bankruptcy
My wife and I bought a house 3 years ago with the minmum down payment so there’s not much equity in the property. If we file for bankruptcy, will we be able to keep the house.
Thank you

In most provinces, if there is no equity in your house, you would not lose it if you filed for bankruptcy.
If your housing costs are high (mortgage payments, property taxes, utilities, etc.) it is often prudent to surrender the house when you go bankrupt.
Either way, you should have a detailed discussion with your trustee before filing bankruptcy so that you understand what may happen to your house.
