bankrupty from Credit Cards

June 16th, 2005 by Questions

Hi,

I live in Canada and I am considering bankrupty due to being “underemployed” the last 5 years. I have a job but it does not sufficiently pay the bills.

I have been using credit card cash advances to help pay my minimum amounts due. I am currently up to 70K in total credit card debt with no way out it seems. I have spoken to the Debt Counselling Society and they recommend going bankrupt. I have no other debts except for Credit Cards.

I make approx $600 per month but I’m hoping to find a better job but with no luck.

thanks

It looks like you are an indeed a candidate for bankruptcy. It is necessary for you to contact a trustee in your local area who will be able to explain in detail how a bankruptcy will impact your situation. If you simply click on the Find An Expert link on the right hand side of the page to contact a local trustee they will be able to provide you with a free consultation where they will review your situation, help you understand your options and determine what the best course of action for you to take.
