waiting for discharge

This is my second personal bankruptcy. I filed in August 2001. The trustee accepted that I “had satisfied all my obligations under the bankruptcy” back in Sep 2004. He claims he has applied for my discharge and all I can do is wait. It’s been 8 months. How long does this take? It was much quicker first time around. How can I check if the trutee has done his job?

A licensed trustee said...

It is not uncommon to wait an extra year for a discharge in a second bankruptcy to be processed by the courts. Your best course of action is to contact your trustee regularly to determine when your discharge hearing will be held.
