IF you are not on title to the property you may be able to hire legal council and dispute the lien, but if the lien was on the house prior to you removing your name on title then you will have a very difficult time getting that removed as the creditor had the right to lien your portion of the equity in the house. This is normal collection practice, and ultimately the lien will be limited to your share of any equity.
Now there are a few ways for you to deal with the lien, you can pay the corresponding debt in full, you can offer a consumer proposal to your creditors to pay a portion of the debt over time, or by filing a bankruptcy. Either of these 3 will serve to eliminate the debt that is behind the lien.
