This really depends on the people collecting for the loans you hold. Essentially, these collectors still retain all the collection rights they would have should you live in Canada, the only trick is it is a bit more difficult when you live in a different country. As a result you will often find it comes down to amount, the larger the amount, the more likely your creditors will spend the time and energy necessary to pursue you outside of Canada’s boarders.
