Seizure by Sheriff
February 7th, 2008 by Questions
I have $30K in student loans that will be 7 years old in April, so basically I`m trying stretch things out until the new rules come into effect. However, the credit union has gotten a judgement against me and I have received a letter from the sheriff demanding payment and threatening to seize my property. I have no assets that I wouldn`t be allowed to keep if I declared bankruptcy, so is it likely that my household goods will be seized? The only thing I have that is even remotely valuable is my computer and it`s probably worth less than $1000.
and it`s probably worth less than $1000.

If you assets would be considered exempt in a bankruptcy that also means that in the absence of a bankrutpcy they are exempt from seizure as well.
