surplus income payments

I am a creditor who opposed a discharge. The bankrupt has been paying for over a year. When do I get my money?

Generally speaking, most trustee wait until after a client has been discharged to disburse funds to their creditors.

If you have opposed someone’s discharge, you have forced the trustee to book a court date in order for the bankrupt to obtain their Order of Discharge – depending on the terms that are Ordered by the Court, you will likely have to wait until the bankrupt has met those terms before the trustee will close the file and send you your proportional share of the money collected.

If you’d like a more detailed explanation, I suggest you contact the trustee handling the file.
