Can a collection agency put a lien on my house?
January 28th, 2014 by Questions
I stoped paying my cc some time ago, they have been passed to collection agencies.
All my debts are unsecured, and have been mostly accumulated before I got the house.
Can collection company place a lien on this house?

If the credit card company obtains a judgement they can enforce that judgement by registering it against real property and eventually force the sale of the property if there is sufficient equity to justify the action. On that same judgement they can also garnish wages, seize bank accounts and other non-exempt property.
