car loan question
December 27th, 2010 by Questions
I had a car loan that I could not afford and had not made any payments on the car for 6 months. I called the bank and told them to repo it as I could not afford it. They said it wasnt worth their time to take it so I asked if I could sell it as junk as it was barely running. They said it wasnt a problem. That was 2 years ago and I still have made no payments. I am just wondering if I went bankrupt if that would cause a problem for me or the current owner and if that would disallow me to go bankrupt.

If the bank still had a lien on the car you would have had problems selling it – likely they removed the lien (or never registered one in the first place). Make sure you discuss this with whatever trustee you speka to, but I don’t think this is likely to cause you any problems…
