up to what percentage can the government take of your garnished wages?

If you earn a wage or are paid a salary the maximum garnishee from any/all sources in Ontario is 50% of your pay. The normal gov garnishee is usually 20 or 30%.

If you are self employed the maxuimum garnishee is 100% of your receipts.

To stop a garnishee you must either pay off the debt in full, or file either a consumer proposal or bankruptcy.
