Does the trustee file income tax returns when you’re doing debt settlement the way they do with bankruptcy?

A licensed trustee said...

Trustees do not handle debt settlement programs – it is considered a conflict of interest with the services we are licened to perform (bankruptcies and proposals to creditors).

Tax returns are only performed as part of a formal bankruptcy procedure.
