im going through a divorce and could possibly end up with 46000 dollars worth of debt. i bring home 2200 a month, this debt doesnt include my car that i have monthly payments on. I’m struggling very much with with all the debt at the end of the month. i am left with approximately 900 a month and this is to cover rent, groceries and gas. i’m lucky to be able to live with my friend for only 400 month but i would like to get into my own place. is debt settlement an option for me?

From the sounds of it a debt settlment program may be to costly given your current income and expenses. A debt settlement often works better when you have a little more space in your budget. But it is definately something to be considered. What I would recommend is that you contact a local trustee and they will be able to review your budget and help you to determine if the debt settlement is realistic, and if not what options would make sense.
