Help with Writ of Seizure and Sale
June 17th, 2010 by Questions
I am panicked as CRA has filed a Writ of Seizure and Sale against my home with land titles. The amount is in dispute and has to do with another person`s tax debt. What does this mean can they seize my home and sell it.

When Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) registers against property, this becomes like a second mortgage. So they now have the right to seize and sell, just like a second mortgage does. This doesn’t necessarily mean that they are going to do this, but it is definitely something they could do. The only way to know for sure is to contact CRA and see what their intentions are.
