separated going for consumer proposal
July 3rd, 2013 by Questions
I am unofficially separated. Still living in the same household. Paying bills. Our matrimonial debt is huge. Can I file for consumer proposal for myself? how to do it?

Certainly – FYI you don’t have to be separated. You have the right to file a proposal or bankruptcy regardless of your marital status to deal with your debts. Keep in mind if you do decide to file that your spouse will be held responsible to repay any joint debts the two of you have. The polite thing to do is to warn them you are going to file so they can look at their own situation.
