i’m halfway into a 4 yr consumer proposal.can I apply for an unsecured credit card with two yrs left on my proposal?

There is no law or regulation prohibiting you from applying for new credit during your proposal, but the likelihood of being approved is slim, at best. Your best bet may be to apply for a secured credit card – this is a card which has some sort of deposit held by the issuing company. If you default on the card they seize your deposit.
Contact the trustee handling your proposal and ask them for some advice…
