Fees

April 8th, 2013 by Questions

I have contacted a company that says the program she would put me in would be a consumer proposal however she has asked for $400 deposit (refundable if proposal is not accepted) and then a final $300. I thought consumer proposal fees came out of the amount you paid every month. I was told to be aware of companies that asked for money up front.

You are quite right to be concerned. If you want to know if the company are licenced trustees call the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy and ask. They will tell you whether or not you are dealing with a trustee. If you are not then try a Google search to find a trustee to deal with directly.
