Mortgage Renewak

My mortgage renewal is due on dec 31, but im thinking to do consumer proposal this month. Should I shop for lower rate before applying for consumer proposal or i can still shop after. Thank you.

If you planon shopping around you’d better do it BEFORE you file the consumer proposal. Once you file your proposal your existing mortgage compnay will definitely renew, but no new compnay will likely accept you.
