What will it cost me to do a consumer proposal? Do all companies charge different fees? Is it a percentage of what I know?

There should not be any upfront fees to file a consumer proposal. Your trustee will be paid a preparation fee and a percentage of all funds distributed to your creditors – all of this is included in your monthly payment.

If some one is asking you for fees upfront, or in addition to the monthly payment requirement they probably are not a trustee and therefore canot provide file a proposal themselves. Once you pay them their fee they will refer you to a trustee to do the work. Save yourself the fee and deal directly with a trustee…
