If you have filed a consumer proposal you have lots of different ways to prove you have filed – the easiest is to simply refer them to the trustee that is handling your proposal.

If you haven’t filed yet then you should discuss these calls with your trustee – most trustees will tell you to give the creditors their name so that the trustee can confirm you are in the process of filing.

If you think you are in a consumer proposal because you are dealing with a debt consultant or a debt settlement company then I have some bad news for you – you are not.
