The short answer is yes, you have to explain your living arrangements with your trustee. The trustee will then decide what level of disclosure is required should you file a consumer proposal.
Bankruptcy law considers a person in a common law relationship if they have co-habitated for a year, (less time is required if a child has been born to the couple).
