If I decide to file a consumer proposal, do I have to disclose that I live with someone even though I am not legally married?

The short answer is yes, you have to explain your living arrangements with your trustee. The trustee will then decide what level of disclosure is required should you file a consumer proposal.

Bankruptcy law considers a person in a common law relationship if they have co-habitated for a year, (less time is required if a child has been born to the couple).
