Eligibilty of Consumer Proposals
November 11th, 2010 by Questions
I am wondering if I could apply for a consumer proposal if my name is on a company. My debt is personal and not company related. My name is on the company papers because I look after the payment of the bills and general office work. however I rarely recieve money through the company.

There is no problem with being listed as a director of a company when looking at the filing of a consumer proposal, the only problem that could techinically occur is if you have an ownership share in the company, those shares would have to be evaluated when determining the offer you would have to make to yoru creditors. So it can complicate things a little, but you would still qualify.
