Car Purchase with Financing from Bank
November 3rd, 2010 by Questions
I`m about to file for Consumer Proposal. I have financing through Scotiabank. This was arranged through Mazda dealership. Scoitabank is not one of my creditors. I was previously told I can keep my vehcile, but wondering if this is still possible since the financiing is arranged through a bank?

The filing of a consumer proposal shouldn’t have any impact on your ability to keep the vehicle. So as long as your up to date with your vehicle payments there should be no problem, regardless of whether you are financed with a bank or not.
