As long as you didn’t know about the inheritance or were expecting the inheritance at the time the consumer proposal was filed, then this is pretty clean. The money from the inheritance would be yours, you do not have to give it to your trustee but I would strongly suggest you use the funds to pay the proposal down with all or a portion of the money. That way you will be able to put the whole situation behind you as quickly as possible and move on to rebuilding your credit.
