Harassment from Creditors

November 2nd, 2009 by Questions

I submitted a consumer proposal two weeks ago. In that proposal I surrendered my vehicle to the secured creditor. I recieved a call today from the secured creditor to not only arrange pick up of the vechile but they also threatened that they were going to start collection proceedings for the difference between what I owe and what they sell it for and they haven`t even sold it yet! They said that a consumer proposal does not cover that short fall even though my trustee had written it in to the propsal. I can`t get a hold of my trustee and really stressing out is what they said true??

The creditor is mistaken – the law is quite clear. Keep trying to reach your trustee so that you can provide them with the creditor’s name and contact info.
