Can I file bankruptcy to get rid of my debts?
November 16th, 2009 by Questions
I currently do not generate any income and have no assets under my name, but I have close to 40,000 in total credit card debt that me and my husband are struggling to pay off. Can I file bankruptcy to get rid of those debts? Thank you!

Yes, the filing of a bankruptcy should rid you of those debts.
Now be advised, there is a category of debts that are not released by bankruptcy, so if any of your debts relate to the list found at the previous link you may have an issue or two, but I think for the most part you shouldn’t have much difficulty.
