Bancruptcy
November 5th, 2009 by Questions
If my husband is thinking of Consumer Proposal and I had a secondary card for one of his Visa accounts (now the card is closed), will I still be responsible for full balance on the card? And in this case do I also have to go for Consumer proposal?
Thank you!

This will depend on how the documentation was originally drawn up by lending institution. If they have given you joint status or you are listed as a co-borrower then you will be responsible for the full balance. However, if you simply received a supplementary card and wasn’t given this joint status then you likely will only be responsible for the transactions you made on your card.
