My husband and I have done a consumer propsal a week ago…I just found out that I am to receive money from the goverment for my disability….I would like to know if I can keep it, or will it be taken away to pay my debts……..

You need to call your trustee to discuss what has happened. The funds can’t be “seized”, but your creditors are entitled to this new information and it may have an impact on the terms of your proposal.
depending on the size of the payment (to you) you may want to change your proposal to a “lumpsum” offer (a one time payment instead of payments over multiples months/years), or you may not want to offer the proposal at all. Your trustee will help you sort this out.
