Consumer Proposal against Sponsorship

I will be filing a consumer proposal soon. I am also in the process of sponsoring my mother. Will the proposal affect my sponsorship? CIC refuses sponsonrship if the sponsor has filed bankruptcy. Is it the same with consumer proposal?

You are correct that you are not eligible to do so during a bankruptcy but I have never seen or heard of anyone having problems sponsoring someone to come to Canada during a consumer proposal.

However, I would recommend contacting the CIC just to confirm this.
