Hi: I would like to file a consumer proposal(i have ability to pay my debts) dont want bancruptcy. my question is: i am a application developer mostly work for financial institution. any employment application required credit check. if i file consumer proposal, will it effect my status of employment?

A person cannot be fired from their emplyment simply because they have filed a consumer proposal. Further, unless you are asked on an employment application if you have ever filed a consumer proposal (and I haven’t seen or heard of an application that does so) you are not required to disclose the fact to an new employer.
