do i declare a proposal
September 18th, 2007 by Questions
Hi and thanks for this site. Just a quick question. On some forms and/or applications, it may ask if you have ever declared bankruptcy and you have to check off `yes.` If you do a consumer proposal, do you have to also have to check off `yes`? Thanks!

No. You only have to answer affirmatively if they ask specifically about a consumer proposal. A consumer proposal is distinctly different from filing a bankrutpcy and as a result you would have no legal obligation to respond to a question about bankruptcy.
