File in Canada but living in Eorope (temporarily)

How long does it take on the day you file and for the trustees to meet with you if the do so wish? The reason I ask is that I am currently taking care of a realtive overeas and need to return after I file and have a 2 week window as they need me.

The length of time for an initial assessment will vary considerably depending on the individual circumstance and the individual’s background and level of understanding. The actual filing of the bankruptcy is approximately a 15 minutes process, again depending on questions and concerns of the debtor; whereas the initial assessment may take an hour or more. There are no restrictions, once the bankruptcy is filed, in travelling or taking care of relatives other than the financial costs. Physical meetings such as counselling sessions can usually be arranged at convenient times.
